A friend from work would like to give her son a gift certificate for a nice restaurant in Calgary for xmas. Any recommendations? Can't be too high brow ...

LaChaumiere is a very nice restaurant with excellent food. It is not really high brow but would make a nice gift. Here is the website http://www.lachaumiere.ca/

When you say "too high brow" are you also referring to price?

The boy is 19 so I am looking at someplace where he would feel comfortable. Thanks for the info everyone.
