Rent a Car in Canada

Dear All,

Kindly I'm looking for your help to recommend me the best cheapest way to rent a car on Toronto for a month which i will use it as well to travel to USA for a week and get back again.

Thanks

Where are you going in Canada? What is your citizenship?
Leave the rental car in Toronto and ride the train at least as far as Buffalo and then rent another car in the US.

Hi Tomfuller,

Thanks for your reply.

I would like to have one car which i can use all the time in Canada and USA, so i hope if you can help and advice me for the same.

You will have to check with the major car rental companies to see if you can rent in Canada and drive the car in the US.
If you had any type of accident with the Canadian car in the US it would be an insurance nightmare.
Depending on how long you are in Washington DC, you might want to park outside the city and take either a train or the Metro into the city.

I asked your citizenship and where your drivers license is from. This is what I found about taking rental cars across the border: http://www.ezbordercrossing.com/the-...e/rental-cars/
You don't really need a rental car in Washington DC.

You are not looking for a rental, you are looking for a short term or mini lease.

Price and conditions will wary so read the fine print.

Don't try to save on insurance.

In Washington, stay near the National airport (DCA). Hotels have parking and some of them are within walking distance of a Metro
station or run shuttles to the airport.

Forget the trains.

cdnyul,

<b>tune-in</b> to the thread here.

The person wants to rent a car for <u>one month</u>...

Thus it is absurd to give him a web link referencing something that begins at "60 days".

<b>"read the fine print"</b>

Before jumping on cdnyul . . . The OP is not all that clear. It does sound like perhaps s/he wants a car for a month in Toronto and another week+ in the USA most rentals will not go over 30 days.
