Question about seating at the Princess of Wales Theater

How far back is the balcony at Princess of Wales in Toronto? We have front row balcony seats for Lord of the Rings and hope I made the right choice over main floor. Can't wait!

Everything depends on everything... who is to say?

But, having said that, I've been in the theatre many times, and even the back of the balcony is a pretty good place to be.

I think the front row will be great. You'll get a wonderful overview of all the interaction.

It's probably where I'd pick to sit, too.

It's a beautiful theatre, too.

Seating preferences are very subjective but generally, seats in the upper levels let you see the depth on stage. If you're on the orchestra level, you can't see the performers in the second row as well.

Row A in the balcony overhangs row L on the orchestra. Here's the seating chart: http://www.mirvish.com/SeatingCharts.../Princess.html.

There's also a photo taken from the side of the dress circle that shows the the relationship of the balconies to the stage at: www.mirvish.com/OurTheatres/Princess.html.

Just don't try to find a water fountain during intermission.

Thanks BAK and Citylghts for the info. I feel we made the right decision now. From what I understand of the show there is a lot happening on stage set-wise which may be better viewed from higher-up. Citylghts thanks for the website. The theater looks gorgeous! By the way, we booked Hotel LeGermain for our visit. It seems like an easy walk to the theater, no?
