quebec to montreal

Since I last asked for advice flyglogespan has cancelled our flights home from Hamilton. We have now rebooked with Zoom out of Montreal and as a result now have only 3 days (2nights) after disembarking in Quebec early on 1st day .
Question is; shall we spend those 2 nights in Quebec city and then take a leisurely drive to Montreal on Southern route (132), or 1 night in Quebec and stop somewhere? on route for the second night, our flight out leaves at 11pm.
Any advice or suggestions would be welcome, thanks.

Why don't you do one night in Quebec (with 2 full days) leave the late afternoon of your second day and spend the night in Montreal? You could have a great dinner there, see the sights etc.

Hi mik,

I agree with lolly...that would give you the chance to experience Montreal which is really a great city (I personally prefer it to QC city, but I'm a native Montrealer so I might be a bit biased!! lol)

Thanks for that, but what do you think of driving through the eastern townships to Montreal and staying a night somewhere enroute rather than staying in Montreal overnight? That would be our preference we think but not knowing the area we are now unsure?

In all honesty I think Montreal is the better option....Eastern Townships are lovely, but I would pick Montreal anyday.
