Quebec City - Nightlife & Daytime Exploring

Some friends and I (single 30-something ladies) are planning a 4-day trip to Canada in mid-Sept. Though we haven't finalized our decision on which city to visit, a friend recommended Quebec City.

We plan to walk/hike/bike/explore during the day and go out to bars or clubs at night. From what I've read on this message board, Quebec City seems like a great place to explore during the day. However, will we find nightlife? Is there a particular area where everyone goes at night? And will anything be going on there on Sunday and Monday nights?

Allthough not as lively as Montreal's, there is a good bar & club scene in Quebec City on rue St-Jean, rue Champlain and Grande Allée.

Quebec City really surprised me with the dynamism of its nightlife when I visited in August last year. Rue St. Jean drew up quite a crowd and people seemed out and about until the wee hours. I was very impressed with the live singer and ambience at Zazou on that said street.

Don't worry...have a ball!

You will love Quebec City! Not only is it one of North America's beautiful cities, but it is quite active at night. The Grande Alle has a bunch of bars and clubs, as does the old town.

I recommend the Cosmos/Maurice/Charlotte complex on Grande Allee to you and your friends. Large, very busy, attractive/stylish loungediscoresto in an old mansion. The Charlotte is upstairs 20's 30's crowd - Maurice is a bit younger crowd. Fridays/Sundays latino night, saturday dance - very popular club.
