Quebec City Hotels

We are planning a week in Quebec City in April and are down to 3 hotels as choices: Manoir Victoria, Bellevue and Clarendon. Does anyone have knowledge of these?
Also, how cold does it really get in April?
Thanks!

On our first visit to QC last fall, we stayed at Hotel Dominion 1812. LOVED it -- great location, rooms, lobby, staff, breakfast. Check the Rants & Raves.

We'd go there again in a heartbeat...

We stayed this past summer at manoir Victoria -- heartily recommend it!! GREAT location - you could walk all over the old town and even down to lower town _ we hit a GREAT farmers market with locals for breakfast, out the back side of MV and 1/2 mile easy walk. If you have a car w/you, MV also has a very nice, easy in, easy out garage... I think you pay for it but it was same price as other on street..beautiful hotel!

We can recommend the Bellevue. Nothing extraordinary, but comfortable and in a good location.

We stayed at the Manoir Victoria two years ago. We enjoyed our deluxe room on an upper flr. overlooking St. Jean st. (it was not too noisy). The rooms were clean and nice, nothing fancy. I guess room wise I would compare it to a nicer Best Western hotel in the US. The restaurant on the ground flr was very convenient and the hotel is within walking distance to everything. St Jean St. wasn't as quaint as some locals closer to the Frontenac but there were loads of restaurants and shops on the steet. It is also close to the train station.

We've stayed at the Hotel Chateau Bellevue on five visits, most recently this past July. It is quiet, clean and comfortable, but, as noted above, nothing extraordinary. It certainly would not be termed "romantic". They do provide free parking at the rear of the hotel - a rarity in this area. It's in a great location within easy walking distance of numerous attractions, shops, & restaurants. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Be sure to check-out their packages which include room, parking, full American breakfast, dinner at a choice of six restaurants, and taxes & gratuity at the restaurants -- all at a very resonable price, which, of course, varies by season. April would be one of the less expensive months.
We were there in early April of 2001. I recall that there was still snow left in the parks, etc and temperatures were in the high 30's (F) in the evening, days in the 50's.
