Quebec and what other city?
 

We will be vacationing in Canada for seven days in late September. From what I've read on this board, it sounds as if four days wiil be plenty in Quebec City. What other city would you recommend spending the last three days in? Would prefer to stay within 4-5 hours of QC so that wew don't spend all of the extra time going and coming.<BR><BR>Thanks for your help.<BR><BR>Strive

I second Montreal.

No brainer - Montreal. I would actually spend more days in Montreal that Quebec City, unless you are visiting the outlying countryside.

David-<BR>How about adding two days/one night in Mt. Tremblant. On the way, and at the time of year you're going, the weather should be ideal for outdoor activities.

Why go to Tremblant when you will have seen the real thing in Quebec City???

Absolutely Montreal. QC is OK in a touristy Euro-wanna be way but it tries too hard to be different from Anglo Canada. Montreal just knows it's cool, cosmopolitan and distinct. Makes for a much more interesting city to visit.

If Quebec City is Euro-wannabe,then Tremblant is Quebec City wannabe.

OK [email protected], let's make Quebec City more Anglo-Canadian. Demolish the whole thing and replace it with a big Tim Horton's with lots of parking space. Most of the place is very old anyways.<BR><BR>Or is that trying to hard?

Geez, testy, testy. Actually a big Tim Horton's wouldn't be a bad idea, except that instead of the polite service we're used to, we'd get rude ones. As for Victoria, I happen to think it's a marvelous city. Its beautiful, charming, and the people are wonderfully friendly.
