Quebec - 3 nights with kids

Hello - We are a family of four with two children ages 8 & 10. We are fairly active and have no physical disabilities.....kids love animals, nature and typical kid stuff. Any suggestions for activities while in Quebec? We have never been there. Will be there for three nights mid August staying at the Fairmont Le Chateau Frontenac. Thanks for your time.

I would think the kids would enjoy spending time at the Plains of Abraham park

and walking the city walls.

I know there have been other threads on this in the past few years and will look for them

Ride the ferry, take the funicular, watch the changing of the guard, go up in the observatory in the Marie-Guyart building, visit the Museum of Civilization, visit Montmorency Falls.

You should check out festivals/events in Quebec City for the dates you want to visit. I think your kids would enjoy Cirque du Soleil and the Image Mill.

spending time in the port area and watching all the traffic there might also be interesting for your kids.

Have dinner one night at Le Billig. A friend and I took our daughters there a couple of weeks ago and everyone loved it --delicious crepes.

Definitely go to La Citadelle for the Changing of the Guard by La Royal 22e Régiment (the Van Doos). The Citadel is home to a regular battalion of this famed Canadian Army regiment.

The regimental mascot, a goat named Batisse, parades with the guard. On Saturday evenings in the summer, you can attend the ceremony of Beating Retreat which is more elaborate than the daily Changing of the Guard.
