Public bus from Quebec aiport to Old City Quebec?
Is it possible to take a public bus from the airport in Quebec to the Old City? Everything I read suggests a taxi for $35. Surely there is a public bus. Info please? Thank you.

Since no-one with up-to-date experience has replied, I'll dust off my memory from some time ago plus my shuffling through Internet sources.
The Jean Lesage airport, named for a former premier, is not well served by mass transit. Here is a page from the otherwise very helpful city tourism service: http://www.quebecregion.com/en/airport-shuttle-services
It indicates how few airport-bus station runs are offered. You may need a taxi or a limo; the website has suggestions.
I waded through the regional transit authority's French pages and got the impression there might be local services with many stops but I do not trust my translation abilities.
You might try e-mailing the tourism office for further information.

If you go to the Quebec City transit website (www.rtcquebec.ca), you'll see that bus route 78 runs from the airport to Terminus Les Saules, which is in a west-end suburb of the city. You can transfer there to a number of different buses, including those that will take you to the downtown.
The fare is $3.00 Cdn, exact change. You'll probably need to ask for a transfer: "une correspondance".
