Priceline like site for Canadian Hotels
 

Does anyone have a suggestion for a site similar to Priceline. Liked priceline in the past but just wondering what the competition is like these days...Also desperate to get a great deal fast for a Hotel in Vancouver.

Sounds like Priceline may be your best bet. You say you liked Priceline in the past - do you not want to use it now?

Have you looked at what's available at Hotwire?

Thanks for the reply Dave. Just was wondering if there was any good competition out there. Also have bid and failed and now waiting the dreaded 72 hours so getting a bit anxious.
Have looked at hotwire but its a good $40 more than I was hoping to pay. I am just new to Hotwire. Is there listed price what goes or do they also let you bid?

The first time I used Priceline was for Canada in May and had really good success in Montreal, Toronto and Niagara Falls. Obviously you're looking different time, different city!

With Hotwire you pay the price you see, there is no bidding or anything.

Have you looked at www.betterbidding.com for Hotwire tips? You have a really good chance of being able to identify the hotel before you buy it based on the star level and amenity icons shown.

For Priceline bidding you may want to look at www.biddingfortravel.com as well for some helpful information. Do you know about free rebidding on Priceline too as a possible way of not having to wait 72 hours before bidding again?

I have done the circuit using multiple free bids for other areas but no go. Maybe they will release some more rooms by the time I rebid. Part of my problem may be I am running into a long weekend [Its for Vancouver] I will try once more with priceline...trip is still a few weeks away.
I will go back to that site and read more about hotwire.
