Point No Point, Sooke?

My husband and I are thinking of staying at Point No Point in Sooke for a few days in June. Any feedback?

I've only ever had tea there. The place seems a little less than pristine, but the bonus is the coastline and the walking paths.

It would probably be relaxing anyway and you could visit surrounding areas. I can't remember how far away Sandcut Creek is but it's one of my favourite spots. A creek runs over a sandstone bed and forms in pools; then drops off to the beach below. When I was a kid we used to find fossils there and one time a whale surfaced closer to the beach than I've ever seen.

I was pleasantly surprised at the niceness of some of the newer accommodations there when I visited last February (a year ago). The older cabins are pretty basic though. I liked the feel of the place; very wooded and serene (although it is probably different in summer with lots of families around).

I'm the other half of "husband and I."

We're attracted to the coastline, area, and reasonable rates for the "pretty basic" older cabins, and are essentially trying to avoid anything touristy. Any other recommendations for the area that combine cabins and coastlines and tranquility?

Hi:
I may be too late for you re PNP -
we've been going there for R&R for
the past five years. It's very rustic
and totally westcoast - the paths are
lovely and the beach very private.
We've had a couple of wonderful dinners
there in a quaint tearoom on the property.
The newer cabins with hottubs are cute
and comfortable - and, of course, the
sound of the waves is truly awesome!
