Pleasant Bay vs. Cheticamp as a west coast base on Cabot Trail

Hello all,

My boyfriend and I are heading to Isle de la Madeleine and Cape Breton this May/June. We are stopping in Baddeck for one night, staying in Ingonish for two nights, and then have a dilemma... We cannot decide whether to stay in Pleasant Bay or in Cheticamp for the remaining three nights, in order to explore the west side of Cape Breton. I will be 5 1/2 months pregnant, and we will be traveling with our Nova Scotia Duck tolling retriever. We found places to stay in both, but I am wondering if it is better and more accessible to stay in Cheticamp if we need more food options, etc... I just don't want to sacrifice convenience or scenic views. I know that is hard to find though. Any info is greatly appreciated!

Like to hear views. Same situation as the poster but minus the pregnant part.
