Places to stay Manitoulin Island / Espanola
 

We'll be taking a long weekend to travel to Mackinac City from Central PA via Canada, and the second night of our trip will land us in the area of Manitoulin Island or Espanola. Ideally, we'd like to be more towards Espanola, because that cuts down on the driving we'll have to do the third day. Can anyone recommend places to stay in Espanola, or around it? Many thanks!

It is a very tiny place so you will have more selection in Sudbury, which is nearby. Then you get to see the big Nickel. Good luck, have fun. The country is beautiful up there.

Definitely go for Manitoulin or Espanola - not Sudbury. Sudbury has improved somewhat but it is still not exactly a vacation highlight...

You will find the scenery coming off Manitoulin on to the mainland very attractive with white quartzite rocks on the hillsides and lots of evergreens.
