Philly to Boston to Niagara Falls

My wife and I are dropping our son off in Boston next Saturday. We have not been to Niagara Falls and plan to go there from Boston. I noted that the drive is 8+ hours to NF. We will be leaving Boston in the eary evening hours and want to stay along the way, so that the drive the next day is shorter. We also would like to stay near Niagara -on-the-Lake for one night before coming home.
Does anyone have a recommended place to stay between Boston and Niagara Falls and more importantly a recommendation for Niagara-on-the-lake? We were planning on staying at a B and B in Niagara-on-the-Lake but that particular one recently closed.

Any help is much appreciated.

Just past the half way point is the Turning Stone Resort and Casino in Verona NY... the resort features suites, a spa, restaurants, gambling, and golf... a nice getaway...

In Niagara on the Lake, check out the Harbour House, Charles Inn, or Shaw Club Inn ... all are part of a hotel group and are small but super nice Inns...

Another Hotel group with larger properties is www,vintagehotels.com all offer great rooms

remember it is a US holiday so don't wait too long...

I take it that you are driving your own car and not a rental.
It is possible to do this trip using Amtrak and a bus or taxi in the Niagara Falls area.
