I agree with those who say to avoid the city (Charlottetown). Although small, it didnt have as much allure as the rolling hills and beautiful ocean views-the rustico area was lovely and we found some lovely dining places as there are lots of brochures available there to find them.

We loved the seafood restaurant on the corner of Prince and Water streets in Charlottetown. It is not fancy, but the food was great.

If you are looking for fancy meals, there is a big hotel on the north side of the island, in the national park, that is gorgeous and the food was wonderful (the hotel used to be a mansion before they converted it to a hotel). Hopefully someone who has been there before can give you the name of the place.

Hi, just back from a week on the Island, sigh. The best seafood restaurants I found were Dayboat, Carr's Oyster Bar and the curried mussels at Harbour House. Lobster supper at New Glasgow. All are described and mapped in those free tourist books available pretty much everywhere. Or the phone book.

Hi Lucy.... We arrived home from PEI late Saturday. Sigh. It's my real "home" , so goodbyes are hard.

Hi Faithie, I'm in full agreement - I haven't lived there in over 25 years but family brings me back a few times a year - and it still feels like home.

Just returned from our visit to PEI. Found a couple of great restaurants, The Blue Mussel Cafe in North Rustico and the Old Glasgow Mill in New Glasgow. The little gift shop behind the Blue Mussel Cafe even let us know about a tuna catch coming in to the wharf down the road so we could watch the weight in. It was over 1000 lbs. What a beautiful island!!!!
