PEI vacation home with toddlers
Hi there
Just looking to see if any previous travellers to PEI can advise on a great place to stay with toddlers - but not a hotel! Ideally we would like: -a guest house with at least two bedrooms -close to the water -children's activities on site would be a big bonus (i.e. sandbox, playhouse or large garden/yard) - relatively remote...not looking for a motel complex We don't particularly care which part of the island it is situated on. A comfortable place to stay and play with our 1 & 3 year old is what we're looking for. If there is additional room for a set of grandparents, great! Google has given us a huge list of properties to check out, but nothing screams out "perfect for families"! If you found that place, please let me know! Thanks! |

Here's one we often stay in. Rental is for a week, but it is ideal for what you describe. The cottage is quite new and very well appointed. Far from the madding crowd, a five-minute walk from a pleasant, uncrowded north shore beach with shallow water close to shore. Cottage property is fairly large, no traffic dangers. It's a short drive from Kensington. http://www.peivacationrentals.com/elizabeth/index.html

Hi, these cottages are a short walk from the ocean (gorgeous white sand private beach) and it's a very family oriented place with organised children's activities onsite such as hayrides, storytelling and a playground.

It's interesting that 3 of the 4 suggestions lie within a few kms of each other and share the same wonderful beach. The Cavendish cottage is probably 20 minutes away, and in a much more touristy (some would say tacky) area of PEI.

Thanks a lot everyone, I will check out all the suggestions! Has anyone ever stayed at Hardings Reach?

No, but I googled it out of curiosity. Looks nice. But did you want to be close to a sandy beach? This cottage seems to be on a tidal river, not usually ideal for swimming.

Good point. I think we would be more interested in playing in sand than in swimming, but will have to have a think (the kids might like to swim but I prefer a heated pool)!
Thanks again. |
daisyblue- where did you end up staying? We are in the same situation with a 1 and 3 year old, and are researching now. Any help would be appreciated.
