PEI/Bay of Fundy or PEI/Cape Breton in 5 nights/6 days

Hi,
Asking your advice/possible itinerary for 5 nights/6 days in The Maritimes from September 19-24
Arriving to Halifax by noon and departing Halifax in the evening.
First visit to this part of Canada. Coming all the way from Japan.
Thank you.

One more detail, we are two adults in mid 30s and would like to see Bay of Fundy/PEI or PEI/Cape Breton

what do you like to do? sight see from a car? beaches? small towns? cities? hiking? museums / historic sites? what about pei makes you want to go there? i can give you some ideas but need to know what your interests are. what time is your flight out on your last day?

Yes, what is it about PEI which has it such a priority for you?

Most efficiently, one would make a first trip to NS that combines Cape Breton and the Bay of Fundy, with a passage over to Hopewell Cape, New Brunswick to gain the full effect.

That is doubly sensible given your flying into and out of Halifax.

Were it ME, arriving in Halifax by noon, I'd drive off to Baddeck, NS that evening, circle the Cabot Trail the next day, maaaaaaaaaaybe booking two nights in a row at Baddeck (on the chance that FOG renders the Cabot Trail unimpressive that first day, you could improvise and drive it the 2nd day).

Then maybe opt for the long, meandering path from Antigonish to Amherst via Pictou and Pugwash (lol - just keep driving...)... and then into NB, down to Hopewell Cape, and maybe a night in Moncton.

Then I would go from Amherst to Parrsboro, NS to Truro along highway 2, before heading back to Halifax. From there a day trip to Peggy's Cove and/or Lunenburg, and a return to Halifax for the last night or two, to explore the city before your flight out.

Hope that makes sense

Is Anne of Green Gables by any chance the reason for your interest in PEI? I note that you are coming from Japan and know Anne is quite popular with the Japanese. If PEI is a priority, then you could spend a couple of nights on the island, and use the rest of the time for Cape Breton/NS.

not a lot of time to try to experience two provinces. i think you need to prioritize what you want to see. normally, i would recommend 4-6 days in pei or new brunswick and 2-3 weeks for nova scotia. waiting for your response as to what interests you about pei. if cape breton, are you into long hikes, short hikes, sightseeing from the car. are you wanting water activities in any of these areas?
