Ottawa Hotels
We are planning a weekend in Ottawa with 2 kids. We have come up with 3 hotels, ie., Les Suites Hotel, Residence Inn by Marriott and the Minto. Does anyone have any info on these? Thanks.

No advice on those hotels, and this reply is really only to get this message up near the top again.
How big are the kids? We might offer could advice about things they would like. BAK |
Have you checked the reviews of these hotels on TripAvdvisor.com?
As an Ottawan, my knowledge is limited. I have been in the suites at the Minto Place and they were very nice. The Minto Place complex includes the hotel and two office towers, covering a full city block. The main floor is commercial, including a fairly substantial food court, small grocery/deli, drug store, etc., which may be of some advantage to a family. Work colleagues on extended stays in Ottawa have used Les Suites and were quite satisfied. Based on that, I have recommended the place to others and have always got positive feedback. The Marriott is the newest of the three. Ottawa downtown is fairly small, so location is not a major factor. Les Suites is on the eastern edge, handiest for those wanting to shop at the Rideau Centre and to dine, drink and club in the By Ward Market. The Marriott is most central, while the Minto Place is 4 blocks west in what could be called the business district. |
I've stayed at Embassy Suites several times - handy to everything you'd likely want to see. http://www.embassyhotelottawa.com/

Residence Inn includes a buffet breakfast, which is pretty good. . . Any of the three are fine. I would just go with the best rate.
