Ottawa hotels

Anyone stay at Lord Elgin or Metcalfe recently. Asking how the rooms are and any pro or cons.

We either stayed there in the summer of 25 or 24, I would have to check my credit card statements.
I like the hotel, rooms are on the smallish side, quiet, beds are comfortable,
The bathrooms have been renovated, bathtubs and shower curtains have been replaced with walk in showers
They have a room for bikes if you decide to bring your own; location is excellent, so is the staff.
Can't comment on the hotel food or restaurant.
I don't like valet parking, I use the Ottawa City Hall parking.
The only con is sometimes they think they are a 5 star hotel in Monte Carlo on race day and try to charge accordingly.

the metcalfe has a really cool modern boutique vibe since the renovation and the rooms feel way more updated than most places downtown. lord elgin is classic and has that old school charm with great park views but some of the rooms can feel a bit dated compared to the sleeker setup at the metcalfe.
