Ottawa B&B's

Does anyone have any good recommendations for B&B's in Ottawa? I'm thinking ahead to a weekend trip in the early summer. I'll check bbcanada.com, but a recommendation is always helpful. Thanks.

To start things off, I live in Ottawa so I have no direct B&B experience here – I know a nice one in Merrickville, though.

Two to consider are Auberge McGee Inn in Sandy Hill and Haydon House on The Driveway near the canal. I regularly walk past McGee’s and it always strikes me as the kind of place I would like to stay at if I was visiting Ottawa. Haydon House has a great location and was consistently one of the most highly regarded B&Bs in Ottawa during the 15 or so years it was owned and operated by Mary & Andy Haydon. They sold it a couple of years ago; I have heard nothing about it under its new management.

I also like the Gasthaus Switzerland - great location 5 minutes from the Byward market and the Rideau Centre. It has really small rooms but they are very quaint. The brekkie is delicious.

We stayed at the Brighton House. We would highly recommend it again. We had 2 rooms with a fireplace in the living room and a porch on the second floor. They do have a website.
