Olympic observations

I posted this in the Lounge but I figured I'd post it in the Canada forum as well...

It's been interesting to watch these Olympics in Vancouver (from the comfort of my living room). Having grown up in the South, the Winter Olympics are more of a curiosity than anything else, but nobody can beat a good race, whether it be a 500m in ice skating or downhill. Also, figure skating, wow, I don't know much about it from a technical standpoint but I sure do like watching those beautiful, graceful women moving on the ice. I am literally mesmerized :)

Speaking of beautiful women... one thing I've noticed is that Canadian women seem so beautiful... and it's a natural beauty . They also seem so genuinely nice, not conceited at all and just wholesome. At least that's how they come across on TV. The French Canadian women especially, wow, are stunning: blond hair, blue eyes with that cute French accent yet no French attitude.

All I can think is that I need to make a little trip up to Montreal when it thaws out up there! Trust me, you don't want to see me on the ice or on skis. ;)

posted same in lounge and getting responses there...

Why on earth would you think that all French Canadian women are blond and blue eyed? Cause you've met so many of them that you know they all look the same and have no "French attitude"? Sheesh.

Some folks don't know how to take a compliment I guess.

That's what I was thinking about not being able to accept a compliment?

Just like most people think of French or Spanish as brunettes and Swedes or Swiss as blonds, it was the same type of comparison. Actually a lot of Canadians seem to have that blond hair and brown eye combination ala Celine Dion which is quite nice. And the brunettes look nice as well ;)

Now are you happy taggie?

Ummm, Celine Dion is a brunette.

It's subjective I guess.

Having grown up around people with jet black hair, anything less I usually consider a blond :)
