Nova Scotia, PEI, Cape Breton
Hi everyone. We're just planning a trip in the first half of 2020 to visit our son who is living in Toronto for a year. From there, we would fly to Halifax, rent a car and travel around Nova Scotia, PEI and Cape Breton, returning to Halifax and flying out from there.

I'm wondering the best month to come, given that we want to play golf in all three Maritime destinations and want to make sure that the Anne of Green Gables sites are open. Our son leaves Toronto in early August. I'm thinking June may be the best time, but what would May be like in the Maritime Provinces? We adore seafood and I'd also love to see those lupins in flower.
With thanks.

As far as PEI is concerned July and August is the best time to go because everything is open and in full operation. Many places outside of the Charlottetown, Summerside, etc are just starting to open in mid June.

We have been enjoying PEI for many years and I have posted our favorite places to visit here

Enjoy your time on the island.

Hi Tom,
This advice has been invaluable. We have decided that we should make our long-awaited trip to the Maritimes the following year when we can go in the proper season and not try to tie it in with our son's time in Toronto. I have saved all your travel tips for then.
Many thanks.
