NOTL - Harbour House Hotel
I'm thinking about pampering my wife with a trip to the NOTL region. I've been searching local B&B's, and nothing seems to appeal to me. We don't appreciate the Victorian decor and 'old-world' furniture. In contract, I was impressed (with the web-site at least) with the Harbour House. Has any one ever stayed there?
Any other recommendations? What are good spa destinations in the area? |
Excuse my ignorance but where is NOTL region???

Can't help you with Harbor House, but we love Cecile's House. I would call it more ecletic than anything, but I could be wrong. It is very nice, but is comfortable. It is on Gate Street - one block from the lake and one block from Queen Street. You can park your car and walk everywhere.

I don't know anything about Harbour House - but can I put in a vote for the Grand Victorian B&B - I can't stand that fussy Victorian stuff....YUCK! But this B&B was a great spot - directly on the Niagara Parkway - minutes from downtown NOTL and fantastic breakfast in a gazebo - lovely property and NOTL - what else could you ask for???? Just ignore the Victorian yuck stuff - it wasn't that bad at this spot thank goodness...oh - and relax with a swing on the Veranda....ahhh....I think that I have to go book a night there now.

I recommend the Stamford Village B&B. It is closer to Niagara Falls than to NOTL, but I think it is the best deal for your money.
Here is the website: http://www.niagaraonthelake.com/fram...villageb-b.com You will be guaranteed to have the best breakfasts you have ever eaten. If you are worried about parking in NOTL, it is really not a problem if you are willing to walk 2-4 blocks. Later in the evening (if you are going to a play), the parking does open up. I just love this B&B! |
I hope that I am not too late in responding kyau-
I have stayed at the Harbour House with my sisters and mother (all very picky to say the least) and we all loved it. You cannot go wrong here. Have fun. |
