Non-Stop Flights from Manchester, NH to Where in Canada?
 

My sister and I would like to have a get-away weekend the end of January in Canada. Not sure where we can get to quickly, non-stop from Manchester, NH. We thought Montreal would be a possibility, but there are no non-stops.

Montreal was appealing because of the underground shopping and also the nearby casinos. Is there anywhere else with underground (or enclosed) shopping and casinos that would be about a 2 hour, non-stop flight from Manchester?

Air Canada flys non-stop from Manchester NH to Toronto. Toronto has 16 miles of underground shopping. Check this site http://www.city.toronto.on.ca/path/
Some hotels such as the Sheraton on Queen st. connect to the underground so you never have to go outdoors. Lots of wonderful Toronto hotel suggestions on this site as well.

Just FYI, Montreal is only a 4 hour drive from Manchester (weather permitting!).

I just looked at the PATH site -- it looks fantastic. Can you recommend a particular hotel in a good location to easily get to the best areas?

Also, any restaurant recommendations. We have never been to Toronoto.

Being the timeframe when we want to travel -- very end of January, I think it would be too chancey to plan to drive. That's why we are looking for quick flights (non-stop).

I will fly from Washington, DC and my sister is in Manchester, NH.

Anymore tips appreciated.

Stay downtown where most hotels, shopping and attractions are close to the subway and PATH.
The main N/S artery is Yonge Street.

the Express bus from the airport goes to the Fairmont Royal York, on of the great hjotels of North America, and from there you can walk underground to lots of good places. It's near the bottom of the map.

The EAton Centre Mariott, near the top of the map, is linked via indoor walkways to the tunnel system, although the map does not show it.

Inbetween, the PATH system goes past the escalator to the lobby of the Sheraton Centre.

But lots of other hotels are a five minute walk from the tunnels, too. Holiday Inn, Intercontinental on Front Street, Strathcona, Victoria, Le Germain, King Edward, and more.

Plus, there';s arguments about wearing a coat and staying in the Yorkville area, close to the subway that gets you around town, too.

Why Canada? If so, why not just drive?

Why not Boston? Hotel rates are at their lowest, theater is is full force. Nightlife and dining are fabulous...

The best "getaway" in January is a full service hotel with two or more restaurants within, a terrific cocktail lounge (preferably with live music) and shopping and dining within a few blocks.

Oh, please..let's NOT get into the "Why did you choose THAT location?" stuff since one could easily ask, "Why Boston?"

I vote for Toronto which has to be one of the cleanest and nicest cities I have ever been to anywhere..probably why I am going back next April.

Why drive, and do the WORK of driving and spend the TIME that driving takes if you don't have to?
