Niagara Falls - Where to Stay - 1st Anniversary

We need your help! My husband and I (ages 23 & 24) are taking a long weekend and heading to Niagara Falls, Canada to celebrate our first anniversary in a couple of weeks. We got engaged by the falls in December 2008. We are looking to stay in a nice hotel, preferably 4-star. We are staying for two nights. We are having a really hard time deciding between hotels. We had originally planned on staying in a Fallsview hotel, but we have also recently heard good things about the Sterling Inn and Spa. We will be doing some sightseeing so it would be nice to be in a convenient location, but since this is an anniversary trip, we would like to have a nice room. We are open to recommendations for both fallsview and other nice hotels. Any suggestions?

Embassy Suites or Marriott.com my favs

falls view room high up Marriott.com preferred guest floor

is awesome usually free for me even bidding priceline.com

betterbidding.com for tips on deals doing that.

Might join up costs nothing many perks free breakfast

foods drinks save a tonne on meals all very upscale

booking.com still good deals if you do not want to book

good honest reviews from recent guests

BBs top rated romantic also prefer the upscale hotel perks.

Congrats!

There is no better place than the Niagara Fallsview Casino and resort if you want to stay in the Falls... Sterling is a nice property but away from the views and behind a tacky tourist area...

If you choose to not see the Falls from your room, you are much better off in Niagara on the Lake (NotL) which is 20 minutes away and in the wine country... Prince of Wales is the premier hotel in NotL, but there are a dozen properties that offer great rooms and service, plus excellent dining and a romantic wine experience...

ps DEFINITELY get a fallsview room. We have stayed at the Marriott Fallsview and that is great too but the Fallsview Casino is better.

I agree with garyt22 - staying in Niagara on the Lake would be a much more romantic experience. Visit the falls during the day, but stay somewhere else.

We've done both, one night at the falls two nights at a B&B or vice versa.
