Niagara Falls Anniversary Dinner
Is there anyplace, besides the Skylon, to get a nice dinner with good views of the falls?
I just thought I would throw the question out. Also, are there any great little places to get breakfast and lunch? Doesn't have to be in the heart of things. Thanks! |
Hi alliegator,
I know the Fallsview Marriott has a really nice restaurant. It's called the Terrapin Grille. It has a view of the falls that is slightly obstructed by the trees because it is not located at the top of the hotel. You can check it out at their website. www.fallsviewmarriott.com My husband and I dined there once and it was very nice with good food. Hope this helps, Annika |
At the Embassy Suites is a chain Steakhouse called the KEG... decent meal. good price, excellent view...
For breakfast, try the Fallsview Casino Buffet for basic breakfast (no Kids) or better yet, drive out the Niagara Parkway toward Niagara on the Lake... the village has four or five diners and bakeries that offer good food for Bfast and consider a winerey like Hildebrand, Strewn, or Peller for a great lunch... |

Yes- we wanted to stop in there but didn't have enough time. Looked inviting. |
Thanks for the suggestions, I will look into them both. We plan to go to toronto for a day, so maybe we can stop at one of these diners on the way out of town.
As for the wineries, that is a good idea. We were told to go to Pillitteri for the Ice Wine. It didn't look like it served lunch though. So I will look into the others as well. |
We live in the falls. Yes, there are a few good restaurants with great views:
1. The Pinnacle - at the Minolta Tower- excellent view and food- high end. 2. 17 Noir at the Fallsview Casino - Great view - Food is high class - very expensive. 3. The Keg - at the Embassy Suites - great views - Steaks - average prices 4. Watermark - Hilton Hotel - View is great - Food average - but very expensive If you want a view at lunch you could try the Victoria Restaurant at Table Rock. It is a bit pricey but the view is good. If you don;t require a view for lunch there's a new Tim Horton's on Clifton Hill for a cheap, cheerful and casual meal or there are lots of Timmie's around the city. If you don't mind a few minutes drive you could find lots of restaurants in the city. Swiss Chalet (there are two locations one on Lundy's Lane and one on Dorchester and Thorold Stone Rd.) Not sure where you're from but if you are Canadian I don't have to tell you about Swiss Chalet. If you aren't Cdn SW is a bbq chicken place with good food and decent prices in a casual setting. If you want something more upscale and you don't need a view try one of the wineries such as Peller's or Hillebrands etc for wine tasting and a great lunch. Breakfast is the best at Wimpy;s in NF, on Portage just past Thorold Stone Rd. You could get a map from your hotel and the staff will show you where these restaurants are. As a general rule the further outside of the tourist area you are the cheaper the prices for food. Hope some of this helps, |
For breakfast an old fashioned little brown German style breakfast/coffee shop on the South side. I'm not sure if it is called "Mom's". It is about 7800 Lundy's Lane which is West up the hill from the falls. If you stay in a hotel on Lundy's lane it is handy. Sorry I can't remember the exact name. Prices were good, service was fast and food was great. Really cute place.
