Niagara Falls
Planning a late Sept trip to the Falls - will stay on the Canadian side of the falls - will not have a car - will do an organized tour to the falls and sights to see - can someone recommend a good hotel with a falls view and also does anyone know if there are any tours or a local bus ride to Niagara on the Lake? Would love to see that area - but so far all I can find are wine tours to that area and am not interested in doing only that. Thanks

Best falls views are from Sheraton on the Falls (NOT to be confused with the Sheraton Fallsview) which is right across from Maid of the Mist.
Taking the People Mover to all the attractions is preferable to a tour package. There is bus service to Niagara-on-the-Lake during summer. Not sure about fall. You can probably find out at www.niagara-on-the-lake.com or at least find a phone number for the visitor's office. |
Marriott Fallsview hands down is the best hotel with a view of the falls, IMO.

Hi! We are staying at the Marriott Renaissance Fallesview hotel just after Labour Day and booked on Priceline for $39 U.S. Check with www.tripadvisory.com and you will find that this is the second best rated hotel on the Canadian side and the reviews are terrific! Hope you have a great trip! Terry

Thanks for all the help - I have a few more questions - has anyone eaten at the Skylon Tower (Buffet) or the Sheraton by the Falls - we are looking at two tours - basically the same sights to see - one Grayline and the other Niagara Adventure tours - one does Skylon and the other Sheraton for dinner. Also if anyone has done either of these tours - any advice would be helpful. Thanks again.

applejack,
I have had many a family vacation eating at the buffet ... yes, it IS worth it. (Even better than the revolving dining room which is one floor above). While in the tower, it is incredible FUN to take one of those cheesey photos that looks like you are going over the Falls in a barrel or canoe. :)) |
