Hi,

I would like to go to Montreal from July 4- 7. I've read several posts on Fodors on how cool the area called "The Plateau" is, but when I check travelocity or expedia, I can't find any hotels.

Any suggestion on a moderate hotel is apprecated.

There are a few small hotels and scattered B'n'Bs (Gites). I can recommened le Chateau de l'Argoat, two old houses made into a small hotel (it has parking.) Or try l'Hotel de l'Institut, run by the students of the hospitality and cooking institute, in the same St-Denis-Sherbrooke area. However, you are arriving while the annual jazzfest is still on and you may find nothing available.

The only large chain type hotel in the plateau area is the Grand Plaza on Sherbrooke east. There's also the Hotel auberge le Jardin on St. Denis (very busy street). There are dozens of b&b's on the plateau, most are quite nice.

Lots to find in the Plateau area.
