Need ideas for summer trip to Canada w/ teens and preschooler

I'm not sure what I want exists, but I'm hoping for some ideas. We want to visit Canada, but somewhere other than B.C., since we've already been there.

We would love to stay at a beautiful resort, that would never be desribed as "rustic." In other words, we want something pretty nice just this one time for a special family trip.

Ideally, there would be lots of early/mid teens around for our older kids to hang out with as well as a Kids Club for our young ones in which to play for a couple of hours per day.

Someplace near water (beach or lake) would also be great. And, we prefer a place where it's not opressively hot or humid in the summer.

Finally, we have tons of frequent flier miles, so if we could fly into a US Airways city that would safe us some money.

I love the all-inclusives in Mexico since they are so convenient and fun for the kids. Is there anything like it in Canada?

There are many wonderful resorts north of Toronto in "cottage country" in beautiful locations. There are numerous beautiful lakes north of Toronto. Many of these resorts have all inclusive packages and many activities for family type vacations.
Check out www.resorts-ontario.com
There are tons of choices.
A couple of nice once that come to mind are Deerhurst. and The Briars.

You could try the Jasper Park Lodge which is in Jasper Alberta. Jasper is located 3 hours north of Edmonton or 5 hours from Calgary.

It is very beautiful and has nice rooms on Lake Beaveurt. Not sure if the kids club runs during the summer or not.

The JPL is run by Fairmont hotels so check their website www.fairmont.com

This is our favorite place to stay!

Try Mont Tremblant north of Montreal in the Laurentians. It should meet all your requirements. I don't know if there are all-inclusive packages at the Intrawest resort site, but there are all sorts of accommodation, restaurants and shopping in the "village'. Gray Rocks, very close by does have all-inclusive packages.

You can also spend a day or two in Montreal on the way.

Collingwood/Blue Mountain might be a great destination for you and though the resort/hotels are not AI as such, there are tons of things for kids to do.

While most people would fly into Toronto to get there, you could fly into Detroit and drive over the border at Port Huron/Sarnia to use your points. It would be about a 5.5 hr drive from there to Collingwood.

Otherwise for an AI with lots of sports and a kids club, I'd recommend Clevelands House. Lake Rosseau is in a beautiful region of Ontario with many million dollar "cottages". It would mean flying into Buffalo with a 4-5 hr drive, depending on traffic in Toronto (Fridays are very busy with cottagers going in the same direction).

Hope that gives you some ideas.
