Need a restaurant near the border at Lake Champlain

I'm going to North Hero, VT on Lake Champlain next weekend with a friend. Her cousin, who lives in Ottawa (an ex-pat), had originally planned to come join us, but has now decided it's too risky for her to enter the U.S. right now because of some complicated tax situation she's only recently become aware of. My friend would like to at least meet her cousin for lunch somewhere near the border on the Canadian side, but has no idea where they should go. Can anyone recommend a decent restaurant not too far from the border near Lake Champlain? I posted this in the U.S. forum, but am reposting here to improve my chances of getting a response. Thanks for any help.

Le Café Hemmingford, 4 rte 202 ,Hemmingford, QC J0L 1H0 might suit. It's about 50 km from North Hero.

I've never been, but found this review:

««Le Caf is the best restaurant in Hemmingford!
It's the only restaurant where you'll find healthy food.
They offer a "menu du jour" and a brunch on Sundays. The food is excellent, the service is fast and the staff is very friendly.
There is a very cute terrace in the back.
I really recommend this restaurant!»»

Thanks so much, I'll pass this info on to her.

If you and your friend go to Hemmingford, you might also want to visit one of the cideries there described in this brochure for the Cider Route

I have never eaten in the restaurants on the Canadian side of the border although we have stayed twice at the North Hero House. The food there and at the Blue Paddle Bistro in South Hero is good.

Thanks, my friend has made plans to meet her cousin at this restaurant, and we all have our passports. I really appreciate the help!
