Movenpick restaurant-Toronto

My family and I will be visiting Toronto over the Thanksgiving weekend. My husband and I had brunch at this great place when we visited about 7 yrs ago. Does anyone know if it is still there?

Hi Colleen - there are now 4 Movenpicks in downtown Toronto - one on Yorkville (uptown) one on York (downtown)one on Yonge (also downtown) and one by the Dome. They're all still here and all great, although I'm not sure the Dome one serves brunch.

Have a happy Thanksgiving!

Colleen - the Movenpick on Yourk St. just north of Adelaide serves a breakfast brunch on Sat (okay, but not fab) and a morning brunch on Sunday - this one is really great. Also, the Yorkville one does a brunch, very good, but not the same selection as York street. Enjoy!

Sorry - that is York Street, not Yourk!

Thank you, I remember the one we went to was the Yorkville location. It was a great brunch and a beautiful place. I'll put that on my list. Any suggestions for a pre theatre dinner spot for someone with 5 sons in tow?

Pre-theatre dinner might depend on the theatre.

For the Royal Alex or Princess of Wales, there are several possibilities, depending in part on how fancy you want, and what the boys like.

Alice Fazooli's on Adelaide Streeet West is informal and has good food, as does Al Frisco on John Street.

Club Lucky and Kit KAt now both have the same menu; a bit more upscale; Club Lucky is a touch more formal than the Kit Kat. Both have excellent Italian food. CL on John, north of Adelaide. KK on King, just west of John.

And there's another ten restuarnats in the same block as the Kit KAt.

BAK

If you want casual there is a Shopsy's near the theatres (if you're talking about the Princess of Wales or the Royal Alex theatres). It's a delicatessen with a huge menu.

Colleen,

There is a Movenpick at BCE Place (Yonge Street, between Front and Wellington Streets) that is a little different from the others. It is a Marché Movenpick -- this means that there are essentially little kitchen counters throughout the restaurant. Instead of sitting down and ordering your food, you can go from counter to counter getting what you like. It's very popular. Also, if you're interested, it BCE Place also includes the Hockey Hall of Fame.

Hope this helps.

Rob
