Do you have a copy of Harold and Wendy Nesbitt's Nova Scotia motorcycle tour guide (http://www.motorcycletouring.ca)? The province isn't particularly big, but with just a week, it would be a good idea to settle on one or two areas you're interested in and ask specific questions about them.

No, but I will pass along to husband, perhaps he can find at library tomorrow or book store in city. thanks.

We're also planning a motorcycle trip to NS (in May/June). I have a copy of the tour guide suggested and it's great.

You can get the guide by simply ordering the Doers and Dreamers guide on the NS tourism website. Go to http://novascotia.com There are several guides includin the motorcycle guide. Remember, the Harley convention is being held in Sydney, Cape Breton in July or August!

I was remiss in not reposting: husband had a great bike trip in NS and stayed in some great places/eats/etc. I will get the info from him tonight or tomorrow and post as an fyi for you; he also used another guide as well as ones fodors suggested here,so I will get that from him too. He loved loved loved it - one of his best bike experiences.

Hi,

I have driven the Boston-to-Halifax route before and I just want to put in a small vote for "taking the long way" just after entering Nova Scotia near Amherst. Take one of the roads down to the bayshore at Parrsboro, and go along the Bay of Fundy into Truro, where you would pick up the faster path again.

And watch out for Nova Scotia's terrible FOG... maybe allow a blank day in your path in case the fog is relentless. It is very scenic when clear but the fog there can be surprisingly thick.

Two of the books my husband used were:

Not the Mainland-A tour of Cape Breton, Nova Scotia and Not the Mainland Either.

He is at a trade show but returns tonight and said he will give me some info on where he stayed, ate, etc - he did say some morning fog delayed him here or there, so plan for that and need to be a bit flexible - he also had one 1/2 day of unexpected pouring rain. I''ll post his info tomorrow
