Motel Hell

I'm doing a story on motels and how bad some can be. Does anyone have a motel hell story that they would like to share?
I'd love to know where the motel is, what happened, and how dirty etc it was.
Thanks

There have been some objections to this post on the US board, and maybe people ought to have a look before they reply.

As I explained on the US board.
I am not a journalist. I am a university student writing a short story for the paper. I do not get paid and I do not use names. (and when writers hit a road block they sometimes go to the internet for inspiration)
If you go to the US message board, it's fun to read all the replies to my message and how people tend to jump to conclusions and automatically think the worst.

Then there is the time I stayed at the Bates Motel. I believe the owner's name was Norman. Kind of a mama's boy.

Great showers.

luv2fly, we stayed there once! We didn't even have a shower curtain!
It was quiet though, we slept like the dead :D

The worst hotel we stayed in was in Florida during spring break. There were no other rooms available so we had to stay after we saw it. Someone had punched a hole in the wall :(
That night when we pulled down the sheets, there was sand on them and hair!

I got a good motel story and it really does relate to "Motel Hell".

A friend and I were driving to British Columbia and stopped off Washington's Olympic Peninsula. We saw thought it would be quaint to stay in these little cabins out in the woods around Port Orchard or so.
We paid for a cabin and brought our stuff in the room. My friend then says, "These cabins look creepy, it reminds me of a movie called Motel Hell."
We tried to calm down but we were getting giggly! Then I went to the window by the bed and found it broken out and patched with plastic!
That did it, we thought "MOTEL HELL!" and packed up our stuff and drove away. I didn't even tell the owners why we left.
We drove on to Port Angeles and stayed in a nice safe Best Western.
