most scenic ferry to Victoria
 

We are landing in Seattle and going to Victoria. We would like to take a ferry that would allow us to see the San Juan Islands and Gulf Islands. We were thinking of going out to the Olympic Peninsula, checking out the Park and than leaving for Victoria from that area. Any suggestions/

The most scenic route that would go through the Gulf Islands is the Anacortes to Sidney ferry. http://www.wsdot.wa.gov/ferries/Sche...roundtrip=true

Anacortes is an hour or so north of Seattle and Sidney is 30-40 minute drive to Victoria.

The ferry from Port Angeles on the Olympic peninsula is a straight run across the gulf - not very scenic but very convenient as it docks in the inner harbour of Victoria and has several sailings a day. http://cohoferry.com/main/

Does anyone know why the cohoferry website (http://cohoferry.com/main/)only shows one-way fares and not round trip fares also? It seems you have to enter the info as if making a reservation before you can get a fare for the round trip.

As far as I know there isn't a return fare. We always just buy a one way ticket at the time we travel. In other words no discount for return.

BC Ferries does the same thing - just one-way. I think most people book that way.

I will need RT (Port Angeles-Victoria-Port Angeles)so I went in and started to fill out the reservation form on-line and it came up with:
Car = $79
Driver = $31
Passenger = $31
Reservation fee on-line = $16
Total = $157

ONE way would be total $81.50

The only difference in the price is the reservation fee. It is $11 if you do it online so I guess they give you a break by making it $16 for the return reservation.
