Most luxurious hotel in Vancouver?
So I admit, my husband is a complete hotel snob. We are planning a trip to Vancouver in July and he would like to stay in one of the nicest and top rated hotels. We will be traveling with our three children (ages 10, 6 and 5). The things that matter most to him are cleanliness, space (we usually get a suite with an adjoining room for the 5 of us) and location/view.
(Our accommodations in Whistler are already set). Any suggestions for top rated hotels in Vancouver? There seem to be many to choose from. Thank you so much for your opinions. |
Here are a couple of favourites of ours but there are lot over hotels that offer what you are looking for.
http://theloden.com/ http://www.fairmont.com/Waterfront For location and my favourite is the Bayshore. It is older than the others but still a beautiful hotel. It sits right on the water and a great seawalk along the harbour. http://www.westinbayshore.com |
Rosewood Hotel Georgia
The Shangri-La Fairmont Pacific Rim The latter two for the view, the former for the latest "it" hotel for hotel snobs. :) |
If you like modern I do recommend OPUS hotel in Yaletown. I did try many luxious hotel in Vancouver and this one was my favourite by far! And the area is great.

Luxurious often equates with stuffy, or furniture that is uncomfortable.
Anyway, the hoptel to stay at with those kids is the Bayshore. Westin Hotels are fine, even if that's not a real Picasso on the wall. But thre are boats and ducks and seaplanes just out the door. Lawns to run on, and it's close to Stanley Park. I've hosted extremely senior execs from giant international corporations around the world, at the Bayshore, with the intention of treating them well, and giving them a distinct Vancouver experience. The Four Seasons could be any Four Seasons. But the Bayshore ain't just any Westin. |
Hmm. I recommended three hotels which are modern, stylish, hip, high-end "it" hotels. I didn't recommend any that I'd consider stuffy, regal, or old-fashioned. I guess it depends on what you're looking for. What's your style?

BTW - I also like the Westin Bayshore. It's a spectacular location and the hotel is luxurious, but I don't know if it would satisfy a hotel snob if they're looking for something more similar to, say, a W hotel, for example. Let us know what style you're looking for. :)

The Loden is spectacular, but it is a bit small in room size. I don't know the other ones.

Thank you for your suggestions. My husband would prefer more of a modern hotel to a traditional one. Nothing stuffy or opulent.
I appreciate all of the ideas. |
