Montreal - Where would you stay - Hotel Vogue or Le Germain?

Finally going to get to Montreal (haven't been in 12 years). Out of these 2 hotels, which one should I choose?

I only know the Hotel Vogue, which was nothing short of wonderful!

I think both are fine. Try this concept:

Photographers and models stay at Le Germain; art directors and editors stay at Vogue.

Movie stars who want to be seen, and movie producers and directors, stay at Vogue. Movie stars who don't want to be seen, and writers, stay at Le Germain.

Since I'm not a movie star, but I am a photographer, Le Germain for me. Unless... I was in Montreal to do some sort of publishing deal, rather than take pictures. Doing a deal is a Vogue kind of thing.

Both are wonderful places in excellent locations.

Perhaps this is why coins were invented: Flippable.

Bak, very funny!
Since I am the one on the other side of the camera, I stay at the Le Germain too :)
I love the Le Germain and hope to be there this fall/winter. I have many fond memories of sitting in front of that fireplace with an espresso before going out to dinner. I always sleep like a baby in their beds too~

I had a reservation of the Vogue, but ended up staying at both the Germain and Sofitel. The Germain was very nice, but we thought the Sofitel was great.

Bak, what an excellent way of explaining things; I am a Germain type of person myself......

I've not stayed at the Sofitel but went to a reception there last winter and loved the public areas.

We sometimes stop for a drink at the Vogue street level bar; it's a much busier area now, they are buiding a huge complex at the corner. I've stayed at the Vogue a few times, the rooms are fine.

Now if I could find a small Germain type hotel in Greenwich or Soho, I would be set. I've stayed at the W in Union Square, the location is ideal for me, my daughter is
attending nyu for 2 years, so I'm trying to find a place I could go back to time and time again. She's living in Brooklyn.

I should post my quest in the U.S. forum. but I thought I'd throw this to you guys in the meantime.
