montreal hotels
For six days around Christmas, would you stay at Ritz-Carlton in a one bedroom suite or the penthouse suite of Hotel Versailles?

Ritz Carlton

There are big problems with the Ritz. I know it sounds as if it would be nice, but many of the rooms are not renovated, and you could be disappointed, to say the least. Also, it is not the best-insulated for noise, and it fronts on busy Sherbrooke St. I would not choose the Chateau Versailles either. I find it just a few blocks away from the most attractive area of downtown. In that area, look at Le Germain, Hotel Vogue, or perhaps the brand-new Sofitel.

Thanks, Lois. That's just the kind of information I was looking for.

Try the Sofitel. They have major opening specials.

Sandy,

Check out the boutique hotels in Old Montreal. They are so much more charming than the big hotels downtown. Hotel Place d'Armes is our favourite.
