Montreal Hotel - Delta Montreal
We need a family friendly hotel for 3 nights in Montreal in AUgust. Is the Delta Montreal OK or should we try to be closer to Vieux Montreal?
Kids are 10, 9 and 6. |
I have stayed there several times and have totally enjoyed it. And they have an indoor pool the kids will enjoy. It is a bit of a walk to Vieux Montreal but is right in the middle of the action with the malls, restaurants, McGill etc.

The Delta Montreal, which is on President Kennedy, is in a great location. It's the heart of the downtown, and a 20 minute walk to the old city, and a 20 minute walk the other way to the plateau. The pool is not huge, but clean and adequate. Realize there is another Delta in downtown Montreal, but it's location is not as good.

The Delta Montreal pool is positioned so that as the afternoon progresses, the shadows cover the pool. No big deal, but it shows that architects need to think better.
Other than that, a fine hoel. Montreal's an either-or city. Stay in Old Montreal, and you'll go downtown anyway. Stay downtown, and you'll go to Old Montreal. So it does not matter which you pick. Aside fromt eh shadows, pick the Delta because kids love pools, unless you have one in your back yard at home. Then pick Old Montreal. Take the kids to the Insectarium. BAK |
The one other hotel we are considering is Hilton Bonaventure because of the outdoor rooftop pool. Are the locations (for Delta Montral and Hilton Bonaventure) basically good to downtown and Vieux Montreal?
We are leaning toward the Hilton because it has an outdoor rooftop pool, but don't want to be too far away from the key tourist sights. |
