montreal hotel
Trying to decide for a pre-cruise stay between Le Place D'Armes, Nelligan or Le Saint Suplice Hotels. As already checked prices, amenities & accomodations seems similar. I think my main concern will be location with walking distance to main attractions.
To those familiar with them is there any factor that I should take in consideration before booking or I"ll be fine with any of them. |
All three of those hotels get great reviews and the locations are within a block or two of each other and in the heart of Old Montreal.
I can only give a personal review on the Saint Sulpice, which we just loved. We had a 750 square foot suite, which was beautifully appointed. The little kitchen was outfitted with linen napkins, wine glasses, nice tableware, which was great for us since we had friends over for drinks and nibbles before we went out for the evening. You may not use these particular amenities, but it speaks to how detail-oriented the management is. Our suite had a balcony overlooking the courtyard with enough room for two chairs and a little table. We also had a working fireplace but it's unlikely you'll be using it at this time of year. Lovely lobby and nice restaurant, although we only had one breakfast there since we usually prefer to go out. I don't know if they still do this, but there was one little touch that I loved. When we checked in, I was given a little envelope containing about half a dozen business cards which said something like: While in Montreal (my name) is in residence at the Hotel Saint Sulpice. |
I stayed at the Nelligan this week one night; the first room they gave me was facing their inside bar area, so too noisy: the next room was fine, it was facing the back lane and very quiet.
I eat at the st sulpice often, it's also a fine hotel, I would say the Nelligan or St Sulpice are in the heart of the gallery area; le Place d'Armes seems very nice also but it's on a busier street. |
I am interested in Montreal Hotels also. I don't see 750 sq feet. available. I am looking at the Superior Loft style 550 sq feet. It has a kitchette....could that be it?
Looks very inviting. May I ask if you made any view requests when you reserved your room? |

Hi joebear, This link should take you to the deluxe suite which is the larger one. Then there's an executive suite which is giant. When you go to the website you'll find all of them under 'accommodations'. I don't remember asking for a particular view but that doesn't prevent from you for doing so. While some other posters might not agree (it's been discussed before), if it were my 25th anniversary, I would not hesitate to tell the reservations clerk that and ask his/her advise about an especially nice view or pretty room. You're not asking for special favours or freebies, just for their best choice for you. I was booking for us and our friends and I only requested superior suites. I think we got upgraded to the deluxe at no extra cost because we booked two suites at once. |
