Montreal Fireworks
 

I will travelling to Montreal this summer and will be in town for a Saturday night firework show. I need to know if I should buy a ticket to view from LaRonde or if there are any nice locations to view away from such a big crowd. Can you see the fireworks from the casino clearly? Any help will be appreciated.

I heard that the bar (rooftop) in one of the hotels in Old Montreal overlooks the water and the fireworks. Maybe the Auberge Vieux Port? Or the San Souci.

I would highly recommend tickets at La Ronde (which include all day admission to the entire park). There are three price levels. Views are the same from each (with the priciest tickets, you receive complimentary wine and cheese, no big deal). Views from the grandstand seats are magnificent (where you can also see the water level displays) and you are right by the speakers (the fireworks are synchronized with terrific music). <BR><BR>In the alternative, you can head for the riverbank anywhere near Pont Jacques Cartier, though this typically involved a lot of walking because the streets will be blocked to traffic. Also, even if you are near someone with a radio and can hear the music, the timing will be &quot;off&quot;. You could also head for Pont Jacques Cartier for better views than from the riverbank, but it fills up quickly, early in the day.<BR><BR>All in all, tickets for seats at La Ronde are worth every penny. <BR><BR>

Totally agree with djkbrooks-We went two years ago and saw the fireworks from the top of a hotel one night and the next night at La Ronde (far superior)Nothing could compare with seeing it up close with the music and the displays that are down lower at crowd level. The crowd was not tough to manage since we just waited a bit until other till people had started to leave. If you like fireworks you're going to love these!!!!

I too would strongly recommend buying La Ronde reserved seating for the fireworks. The music enhances the fireworks experience tenfold!
