Montreal & Quebec hotels

I know there are many threads on this subject but I need advice on specific hotels.I have the Delta booked for one night in Quebec & the Holiday Inn Midtown for 2 nights in Montreal. Since it is the July 4th weekend, a lot of the hotels are a little above my budget ($150 max)The Intercontinantal in Montreal is available but thats averaging $175 per night. We are looking for something centrally located, within walking distance of restaurants & shopping & preferably with an indoor pool. How do the above hotels compare? Is the Intercontinental far better than the HI?

Another option is the Montreal Marriott Chateau Champlain. I am looking for comparisons.

I've stayed at the Holiday Inn on Sherbrooke, which I think is the 'Midtown'. It's a nice 3* high rise hotel in a great area. Two blocks to St Catherine St, one block to the Metro, 20 minutes walk to the old city or the Plateau. You can also check out the Sheraton,Marriot Courtyard, and Delta, which are all on the same block as the Holiday Inn.They are all about the same quality (the Courtyard has the nicest pool). The Holiday Inn has a very good breakfast menu, many of the items can feed two people.

Travelzoo had a promotion for the Montreal Omni for $139 CDN per night. If you don't see the deal still listed on the Travelzoo website, It may have expired OR they may just have let it slip off the list. Try the Omni website and use the promotional code OMNIZOO and see if it works for your dates

thanks so much for the suggestions. $139 is a great rate for the OMNI but it is available only for the 3rd, not the 2nd.Also, when I called, they said their rooms had only 1 king or 2 twins & we are 4. That's the reason I am a little hesitant using Pricelins in Canada. I did get the Delta in Quebec for $60US per night but bid for 2 rooms at that price so the beds are not an issue. Still looking for deals in Montreal, if not, I always have the Holiday Inn which does not sound bad by Zootsi's description.

Just realize there are two Deltas in downtown Montreal. The one on President Kennedy (next to Sherbrooke) is the better location. The same for the Holiday Inn, there is one on Sherbrooke, and also one in Chinatown. The one on Sherbrooke is the better location.

Yes, the one on Sherbrooke - Holiday Inn Midtown, is the one I have booked.
Hopefully that should be fine. Thanks.
