Montreal airport connection

We're looking at flights that connect in Montreal, coming in from Paris and going on to Halifax. On the way out there's an hour and 20 minutes.

Can anyone who knows Montreal tell us if that's going to be enough time, please? I assume we'll have to go through security there.

That could be tight. You will have to clear Canada Customs and Immigration on arrival in Montreal, then recheck your bags (you simply put them back on a conveyor outside customs). You will then have to go through airport security.

However, if you are booked on the same airline from Paris to Halifax, ie Air Canada, and they accept the booking, then you should be able to make the flight. If necessary they will expedite your passage, or transfer you to a later flight. If you are changing airlines, I would be concerned about the transfer time.

You can find more details about Montreal-Trudeau at their website

It's Air France Aberdeen- Paris and Air France Paris- Montreal, but t's Air Canada Montreal- Halifax. It will be a single booking with through ticketing

Sheila,
I find Montreal airport to be one of the most inefficient airports in Canada. I would much prefer to go Paris/Toronto/Halifax & all on Air Canada. Fares are pretty good right now.
The schedule is pretty good too w/ not much of a wait in YYZ( Toronto). Check it out www.aircanada.com

I just noticed that your flight originates in Aberdeen. I did not check Aberdeen.

Aberdeen looks even better!! You can fly Aberdeen to London & then London direct to Halifax! All Air Canada. :)

Only if we stay a day in London. The connection is too tight. We WERE booked on this last week, but the airline contacted to say they had changed teh time of the outgoing flight, and we couldn't do it any more:(

We are finding these connections (at a reasonable price) horrendous. We're trying not to do more than 2 changes. (we thought we'd got it from Icelandair direct from Glasgow, but the return route connections don't work:(

Ah, well, back to the drawing board

Hi Sheila, This is Mactimes3. You were a huge help to me last year planning my families trip to Scotland. I know nothing about international flights but if there is any other help I can give re Nove Soctia I would love to help. A

I travel through Montreal many times a year and find customs to be quite fast compared to a number of other airports. In addition, they have a line reserves specifically for passengers making connections. Just make sure you let the greeter know you are making a connection and they will direct you. I see absolutely no problem with and hour and 20 minute connection. I have done it on much shorter times.

Sheila, I think you'll be fine. Montreal's airport opens up extra lines if the incoming international flights are heavy. I was there in November.

Safe travels,
BC
