OOps! I did forget as far as sightseeing, Notre Dame Basilica, and Mt Royal. The entire city is lovely and interesting, you should just get out and walk all day, see as much as you can.
Have a great time!

And Biodome??
|
Biodome is related to the Insectarium, which is sort of a bug museum, and my little boy and I bvoth thought it was a great place. I happened to have a magnifying glass with me, so that made it even better.

The Biodome / Insectarium package is good for a couple of hours if interesting visiting, but I'd put it near the bottom of your list.

To Kate's (excellent) list I'd add the bagel bakery in the building at the corner of Guy and St. Catherine's, near the hotel (inside, far west end) and Swartz's deli on St. Laurent Blvd., where you'll probably share a table and have a meal you'll talk about for years.

Montreal's great for walking; bring comfortable shoes and walk down to the Old Port from the hotel. Dress warmly, or at least bring warm clothes. It can be really cold, or it can be quite nice, so be prepared to be outside.

BAK

My favorite neighborhood for dining out and strolling around is the plateau/St. Denis area, which encompasses Prince Arthur, Duluth, St. Dennis, Mt. Royal, and Rachael. This area has many interesting ethnic restaurants and cafes, many of them byob.

Highly recommend Guy & Dodo Morali, on Metcalfe just a short walk from the Sheraton. Wonderful menu, reasonable prices, warm welcome, friendly service, very romantic. When reserving, ask for a table along the wall near the bar.
