montmorency falls -no car
we will be in Quebec city for 3 days.i have 2 girls 5 and 7.two days in city and i thought Montmorency falls and Ile d'orleans one day.Just don't know without car if any busses go there or tour?or we need to rent a car?

The city bus goes to the falls. I can't figure out their website. It seems it's bus #53 but from where?
http://www.rtcquebec.ca There's always the taxi. A bike path goes from the port/old Québec to the falls via Domaine Maizerêts. You can rent bikes and trailers at a shop on this path, next to the old port market. Here: http://pages.globetrotter.net/cyclo/location.htm You need a lock as bikes aren't allowed on site but you could walk them if you don't go for the stairs or gondola. |
thank you.do you know how long is drive and will they stop in Ile d'orleans ?

Looks like it's about 40 minutes on the bus and you arrive on top of the falls. It's less than 10 minutes by car.
Map: http://www.rtcquebec.ca/_cms/plugins...px?parcours=53 Schedule: http://www.rtcquebec.ca/_cms/plugins...?parcoursNo=53 Bus routes for main attractions: http://www.rtcquebec.ca/francais/new...es_ancres.html No bus to Île d'Orléans. Maybe from provincial lines but at that point, I'd rent a car. You'd have a lot more freedom with a car and you could drive further east to basilique Ste-Anne or even Charlevoix. |
Ive read about several tour busses that make tours from quebec for the day.
|
When I was there a couple of years ago, they had half day and full day tours. The one I took (full day) spent the morning in the Old Town area and the afternoon visiting the areas you are speaking of. You could also just take the outlying area tour without the Old Town tour.
I don't remember the name of the tour company but I'd guess they are all pretty much the same. |

Thank you for tour advise. do you think we should rent a car for 1 day or take a tour?
