Montreal is so full of fabulous restaurants and jazz clubs, it's tough to make a recommendation. Our favorite place to listen to live music is the lounge at Hotel de la Montagne. There's also Biddles (awesome) downtown and L'Air du Temps in Vieux Montreal. But there are lots of others. In most hotel rooms, there's a booklet that lists them all (along with most of the restaurants). And, you can pick up a copy of the Gazette when you arrive in town which will have listings for all events all over town. You might want to check the Place des Arts website to see who's appearing during your stay. We saw the Canadian Brass there last week (fabulous). As for restaurants, there are lots from which to choose on rues St. Denis, Catherine, Crescent and in Vieux Montreal, to name a few areas, of every cuisine imaginable. Rue Price Arthur is lined with ethnic restaurants (mostly Greek) and there's Chinatown and Little Italy. It's great fun to wander around and peruse the menus, peek inside, and make a reservation when you find a place that's particularly appealing. The new Marche Movenpick at Place Ville Marie is also terrific. And, it's open early and late.
