We're from Alberta and would like to spend 2 wks. vacation, flying to Quebec City for 2 days and then driving to PEI and Nova Scotia from there. Any ideas on itinerary and 'must see' places? Are we trying to do too much in 2 wks?

It depends on what you want to do. To see an excellent example of east coast scenery, you should drive the Cabot Trail in Cape Breton (NS). If you like good night life, you can't beat Halifax!! Just outside Halifax (about an hour or so drive) is Peggy's Cove. That seems to impress tourists quite a bit. Being from there, I don't get it but people seem to love it. Also, in New Brunswick, try St. Andrews and that area. It's gorgeous. PEI is small so you will probably be able to see much of it.<BR><BR>If you have any specifics, please let me know and I will try to help.<BR><BR>Have a great trip!

Two weeks is fine, especially if you drop the car in Halifax and fly home from there, instead of driving back to Quebec City.<BR><BR>Considering you're from Alberta, spend as much time as possible near the water, maybe.<BR><BR>if it was me ... when you drive from QC, keep goping east so that you drive down the new Brunswick coast, rather than taking the western route through Edmunston.<BR><BR>You'll need to decide if you want to see Fredericton. I'd skip it myself; just another small city with nice trees and some government offices. <BR><BR>The coast is more interesting. When you get to the bottom, Moncton is worth a day, Fundy park is worth part of a day, and St. John is worth a day. Then backtrack, visit PEI for maybe two days, then go to Nova Scotia and drive around Cape Breton just to compare the mountaisn to Alberta, and see how the water at the bottom makes up for the lack of snow at the top.<BR>Then go to Halix, via Louisberg.<BR><BR>Sounds like a good trip to me.<BR><BR>BAK

I Brian's plan sounds good, except I would skip Saint John, and visit Fredericton. We are a gov't town, but very beautiful. Saint John is a port town, and quite ugly

If you're driving to Peggy's Cove, why not continue - Margaret's Bay, Chester, Lunenburg - all lovely historic little towns. The Annapolis Valley is also very beautiful. <BR>
