maritime provinces

Just a few words to the wonderful people of Nova Scotia,N.Brunswick and PEI.We returned from our 22 day tour (end Sept.) and want to express our gratitude for all the people there who helped us and were very kind to us to make our trip unforgettable. Of all our travels in the US and Canada we have never met nicier, friendlier people than in the Maritimes. Everything is so clean and nice.It must be a very special to live in.The only we encountered which was not so nice were the secondary roads and the awful state they're in.But that's due to the severe frost you have in winter. If I were 50 years younger I would like to immigrate to your lovely country. Thanks

I don't like to generalize, but generally speaking ;) I too have found Maritime Canadians about as friendly a folk as you'll find. Glad you enjoyed; it's a terrific part of the country.

I would also like to thank all the Fodorides who gave us advice on our 25 day trip to NS PEI NB Quebec City, Montreal and Ottawa. We had a great time and had brilliant service everywhere except for one restaurant in Montreal. We agree that everyone in the Maritimes is very helpful and that the secondary roads are very poor.

There is something to be said for areas of civilization which, for their not being on the way to anywhere, are not over-run by society zooming to and fro.

(Newfoundland doesn't count as somewhere in this context)
