Maid of the mist is it in Toronto or New York or both
 

Hi, Someone please tell me if Maid of the Mist is in Toronto or New York or both. If it is in Toronto. Is there really any reason to visit the New York side of Niagara Falls?

I don't know if it is on the New York side. But I was on the Ontario side, and I did the boat ride on Maid of the Mist there.

Ummm.... you do realize that Niagara Falls are not in Toronto don't you?

The Maid of the Mist operates from both the Canadian and American sides of the falls - you can board from either

Note that in no case does it leave from Toronto. Toronto is a city about 2 hours from Niagara Falls.

Sorry, you guys, I actually know it is at least, I thought only an hour away from Toronto, however, I sounded as if the falls were in Toronto. You got what I meant and I appreciate the responses and the correction.

In answer to an original question... no, there is no good reason to visit the city of Niagara Falls, New York state, unless you have several days to spend in the Niagara Falls area. For a day or two, stay in Canada.
