Lunenburg or Digby whale watching
 

We recently made reservations in Halifax for four nights before without considering where the best whale watching tours would be. It appears it's a choice between Lunenburg and Brier Island with the latter being better perhaps? However, I see that Brier Island is a 2.5 hour drive from Halifax (plus a ferry?) so I'm wondering if it makes sense for a day trip, or, if Lunenburg is "just as good"? Would appreciate any advice from someone in the know! Thanks.
