Driving east

Moving east soon, from Vancouver to Kingston. We want to see Nelson, Banff, Jasper, Calgary and we've heard something about a Red Coat trail south of Calgary, any suggestions for nice drives east of Calgary?

If you have time, stop in at the Mt.Revelstroke National Park in BC. We were there two weeks ago and thoroughly enjoyed it.

Everyone thinks that Saskatchewan is flat. The Red Coat Trail section in Saskatchewan is quite picturesque with rolling vistas and blue skies. Highway two goes all the way to Winnipeg. Once you hit highway 10 in Manitoba, go north to Brandon - my old home town and take the Trans Canada to Winnipeg.

The redcoat trail is highway 2, right? Does that start just south of Calgary? Anyone have any suggestions for interesting destinations east of Winnipeg?

Some places of note are:

Kakabeca Falls Provincial Park which is north west of Thunder Bay.

The goose at Wawa Ontario is famous for hitchhikers who get stranded there.

The sign at White River claiming to be the coldest part of Canada.

Perry Sound Ontario.

The Provincial Park on Lake Superior just north of Sault St. Marie.

The locks at Sault St. Marie.

I would drive to Manitoulin Island and take the ferry to Tobermory.

The fast way to Toronto from Winnipeg is through the states - drove from Duluth Minnesota to Toronto in 18 hours.
